Mark has a background in travel, hospitality, technology and marketing stretching over 32 years in both South Africa and the UK.
His interest in social care started in 1998 when he completed an intensive course in childcare in Johannesburg, South Africa and, together with his then wife, provided short-term foster care to abandoned children. He went on to further investigate this area by completing a BSc (Hons) degree specialising in Social Marketing.
Mark understands the conflict many professionals experience between their ethical values and their commercial interests. However, he believes that there is a wonderful synergy to be found when a therapist or social care professional can use their communication skills, empathy and training to establish a viable and successful private practice.
This led to the establishment of YouCan Consulting in the UK in 2010, since then the company has gained a loyal base of professional clients.
In his spare time Mark enjoys sport, in particular cricket and golf having played and coached for many years in South Africa and the UK.
Mark sees relationships with clients as a long-term partnership. You can always be assured of a patient and friendly response and Mark looks forward to chatting with you for a free initial consultation.
